We got to go visit Aaron at MCT last week during Sunday Liberty. Jeremy was able to meet us there, so all seven of us, plus Aaron's buddy, Ben, hung out for about 4 hours. He is doing well and enjoying blowing up things--every boy's dream!!Liberty was cut short this past weekend. They had been out doing field training all week and returned Saturday evening. Aaron said it felt so good to sleep in a bed again. They got up yesterday morning and cleaned weapons all day. After that was finished, they were given 2 1/2 hours of liberty, but Aaron was on Fire Watch the first 2 hours of liberty. We got a quick call at the end of that last evening to let us know that he was doing well.
Today is the 233rd birthday of the Marine Corps! The guys were given off-base liberty most of the day. Aaron & Ben caught a shuttle bus to Oceanside, where they hung out at a mall. Somewhere along the way, they met up with Will & his buddy. I got to talk with Aaron for quite a while this afternoon as he was riding the shuttle bus back to Camp Pendleton, getting caught up on life at MCT.
Tomorrow they take a test on the weapon systems, then Wednesday-Friday is a mini-Crucible/15k hike. He's not too concerned about the hike portion; heard it's not nearly as many hills as the 10k hike earlier in training.
We are hoping for one more visit to MCT next Sunday if they get liberty. He is looking forward to graduating next week, then on to Pensacola, Florida.

What a great photo! Just love those woodland cammies :) So glad you were able to spend some time with him last weekend, and that the guys were able to spend time together this liberty. It will be hard for them to head their separate ways! Thanks for posting an update.
We have been praying for the guys all week as they finish up! Hope you get to spend some great time with Aaron this Sunday before he heads to Pensacola. You all look great in that picture - gotta love a man in a Marine uniform ;)
