No News to Report....Just Counting the Days!

It's been quiet on this blog, mainly because we have nothing to report!! :(
We are keeping our eyes on the calendar, though. It's 5 weeks till graduation for Will and 9 weeks for Aaron, barring any unforeseen circumstances! Phase 3 starts next week for Will, and in just 3 weeks from Tuesday he'll be in the Crucible. The families of Alpha Company have been organizing a prayer vigil for those 54 hours, so that will be an encouragement for the guys when they get a copy of all those who will be praying for them, day and night.

Will has been in Field Week all this week, and will be returning to "civilization" today. I wonder if he's tired of MRE's?? I'm sure his 'rack' will feel good after sleeping on the ground all week, to say nothing of the chance to take a hot shower! Tomorrow they will be doing a martial arts review, in preparation for their final test on that sometime in Phase 3, and then on Sunday will move back to MCRD. We still don't know how he ended up doing on his rifle qualification, but we do know that if he didn't qualify, we would have heard. So, like all the veteran moms keep saying, "No news is good news!" Teresa and I cling to that!

In previous letters Will mentioned going either to a Padres or a Chargers game. I checked their schedules and the Padres don't have a home game that final Sunday of boot camp, so maybe they'll get to see the Chargers play. That would be a treat for all of them. San Diego is such a military town; the people there are eager to show their affection for and appreciation of those in uniform. Hope they end up going!!

We are so thankful for all the ways our friends and families have encouraged the guys and us throughout these past weeks. It has been such a blessing and we will always be grateful. May God bless you for your kindness!!

I have a feeling he will look at camping differently after what he's been through this week!
