Last night's phone call was for the purpose of talking about travel plans, but that's not what Will had on his mind. His final PFT is tomorrow and it doesn't look like he'll be able to pass the pull-ups portion of the test, which would mean his graduation being delayed until he was able to. His voice broke as we talked, and that was the hardest thing of all. The delay isn't hard to face -- we've known that it was a possibility all along; the pain in his voice was the difficult thing for us. He said, "I'm so close."
We encouraged him with the truth of God's sovereignty and His commitment to conform him to the image of Christ. He knows these truths and now it's time to put his faith to the test. It is a time for us to discipline our minds as well and to continue to trust in our faithful God. Please pray for Will and for us as we wait for results, and then encourage him to press on! Aaron had his test at the beginning; for reasons known only to God, this is now the time for William. We walk by faith and not by sight. Please pray for his faith to increase moment by moment and for God's purposes to be accomplished in his life.
We will post again as soon as we hear anything.
